The PILATES Comprehensive Program (Level 1) teaches the PILATES principles and Essential and Intermediate exercises in a time frame that allows you to assimilate and apply the material at a slower pace. This “ground up” approach is intended for those with no prior teaching experience and little or no training in functional anatomy and/or movement as well as limited exposure to Pilates. COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM CHOICES:Comprehensive  Reformer – CMRComprehensive Cadillac, Chair & Barrels – CCCBAfter completing any of these programs students will be prepared to teach the entire Essential and Intermediate repertoires safely, effectively and with confidence.Spinal, Pelvis & Scapular Stabilization: Matwork – RM1Spinal, Pelvis & Scapular Stabilization: Reformer – RR1Peripheral Joint Stabilization: Reformer – RR2Spinal, Pelvic & Scapular Stabilization: Cadillac, Chair & Barrels – RCCB1Peripheral Joint Stabilization: Cadillac, Chair & Barrels – RCCB2Our programs provide a balanced and thorough blend of theory, observation and practical experience to help you master the repertoire.GENERAL COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • How to apply PILATES biomechanical principles of core stability, breathing and alignment to all exercises
  • A complete breakdown of each exercise
  • Exercise goals, muscular initiation and movement sequencing
  • Modifications to increase or decrease exercise intensity
  •  Modifications for specific body types and postural issues
  • How to recognize optimal and less than optimal movement patterns
  • A variety of programming options to keep clients motivated
  • Effective communication, verbal cues and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation
  • The foundational theories that guide the TRX PILATES curriculum relate to the understanding of dynamic stability and neuromotor control.
  • Delays in motor control and imbalance between the deep local and the superficial global muscles have been implicated in pain and dysfunction.
    (1) Specific stabilization training has been demonstrated to reduce pain, disability and recurrence rates for numerous musculoskeletal conditions.
    (2)  The TRX PILATES approach to rehabilitation is based on reestablishing dynamic control of the local and global muscular systems
    (3) and restoring dynamic balance of stability and mobility.
    (4) The integrated Model of Function (5) is used as a foundation for the clinical reasoning throughout TRX PILATES. Local and global muscle facilitation is achieved through the use of specific TRX PILATES exercises and equipment. Skilled motor training principles guide patient education, verbal cueing, imagery and palpation.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Examine the Therapeutic Foundations of TRX PILATES and how they integrate with current rehabilitation practices
  • Learn how to teach and apply theTRX  PILATES Five Basic Principles
